Kruse Rhododendron State Reserve contains 317 acres of rhododendron and second growth redwood, Douglas fir, and tan oak. The reserve was the site of an old forest fire scar, which is now covered, with clusters of pink blossoms from April through June. A short loop trail leads through clusters of rhododendrons and five miles of other trails wind along other sections of the reserve. The reserve is adjacent to the
Salt Point State Park.
The reserve is approximately 20 miles north of Russian River on Highway 1.
