Martell is home to the Martell Boarding House, built in 1924. The historic home is now called the Sundance Hotel. The historic house was constructed by the Casazza family. In 1924 the Casazza boarding house served miners from the Kennedy and Argonaut; later it provided rooms for workmen employed by PG&E for the Salt Springs reservoir project; and later it was the office for the Winton Lumber Company around 1940. Next door is the old building that was the Fullen Saloon.
Martell is a small community with a rich history waiting to be explored.
Martell is located in Amador on US Highway 49.
