Comments: This place is wonderful. It is the home of the largest totem pole, can't believe they don't promote it more, they should it's amazing. The ocean is only a few miles away, and the air is clean! People are nice and Trinidad, California (heaven on earth) is just a short drive north. State beaches, Clam Beach, Hammond Trail and Hiller Park. What more could someone want? DON'T STAY AT THE MOTEL 6 ON GUINTOLI IN ARCATA THOUGH, (which is just south of McKinleyville) it's run by very poor management!!!!!!!!!!!! Our stay there was hell, no air conditioning in our room and we couldn't have the window open due to very loud and disfunctional employee's! McKinleyville is awesome though so check it out!
