Arroyo Grande Community Hospital is a full service, general, acute care, medical-surgical facility located in the heart of Southern San Luis Obispo County. Established in 1961, this 65 bed hospital serves residents in the southern San Luis Obispo county and northern Santa Barbara county areas. In addition to its state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, AGCH enjoys affiliation with over 200 of the area's finest physicians, surgeons and other medical professionals. The 24-hour Emergency Room Department is fully staffed to handle any medical condition from minor injury to major trauma including stroke and heart attacks, with compassionate and expert care. One of the busiest ERs in the area, it treats 900 patients each month on average, and consistently excels in patient satisfaction ratings. In 1999, the hospital completed a major remodeling of its facilities, including a beautiful outdoor courtyard area for use by visitors, patients and staff.
