VCMC is a 208 bed full-service acute care hospital. Inpatient care is provided in the Intensive Care Unit and Telemetry, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the Medical Surgery floors, the Pediatric wing, the Obstetrics/Gynecology floors, and the Hillmont Psychiatric Unit.
VCMC exists to provide access for under-served individuals who experience barriers to care due to any combination of economic, cultural, or lifestyle conditions. Commonly referred to as the "safety net" population, this group accounts for over three fourths of the care provided by VCMC.
