Methodist Hospital was founded in 1903 in Los Angeles by the Women's Home Missionary Society of the United Methodist Church. The hospital moved to its current site in Arcadia in 1957.

Today Methodist Hospital is an interfaith, multicultural institution that serves the growing, diverse communities of the central San Gabriel Valley. They are a fully accredited, not-for-profit 450-bed acute care hospital - a leader in treatment, education and community services. More than 80,000 patients each year are cared for here.
