Memorial Medical Center Modesto

Memorial Medical Center opened as a 72,000 sq. ft., 99-bed facility on May 1, 1970. The hospital was developed and constructed by Memorial Hospitals Association, an organization of community residents dedicated to providing quality health care in Stanislaus County.

Throughout its history, Memorial Medical Center has achieved several milestones in providing health care to local residents. In 1978, the facility initiated Medi-Flight, which at that time was one of only nine air ambulance programs of its kind throughout the nation. Same Day Surgery, the county's first outpatient surgical service, was initiated at Memorial Medical Center in 1980, and the hospital achieved community cancer center accreditation in the following year.

As the community has continued to grow, Memorial Medical Center has expanded to meet its health care needs. Since its modest beginnings, the hospital has grown to encompass 496,913 sq. ft. with 300 licensed acute care beds.
