Founded in 1924 by the Daughters of St. Joseph, Santa Marta Hospital is a 110-bed facility serving the community of East Los Angeles. The hospital became part of CHS in 1994. Originally established as a 10-bed maternity clinic, Santa Marta now provides a broad range of medical services, including maternity, emergency, acute, coronary and intensive care. In the spirit of Christian service, the hospital focuses on meeting the needs of the community, with a special emphasis on care for the poor.
