Orinda

Orinda is located in Contra Costa County, within the San Francisco Bay Area, between Berkeley and Lafayette on Hwy 24 immediately east of the Caldecott Tunnel on Highway 24 and is served by a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) (BART) station.

Suburban Orinda is snuggled at the intersection of two canyons in the East Bay Hills. Limited flat ground restricts building in Orinda. Just ten (10), minuets by freeway from downtown Oakland and Berkeley, residents of Orinda enjoy a much different, (warmer & dryer), climate than the residents of the cities on the other side of the East Bay Hills. The hills stop the fog most of the time, allowing the Orinda area to heat up faster on summer mornings. The temperature difference can be as much as 40 degrees Fahrenheit.

Orinda serves as a gateway to many small East Bay communities on the east side of the Oakland-Berkeley hills, including Moraga, Laffayette, Walnut Creek and Canyon.
