Historia specializes in authentic Spanish Colonial Art from Latin America, with an emphasis on nineteenth and early twentieth century devotional and folk art. Historia focuses on folk objects that reflect the intertwining of religious and cultural beliefs with the fabric of everyday experience. The collection includes ceramics, furniture, books, jewelry, silver objects, a ceremonial dance mask, an ancestral altar cross, a lacquer hope chest, a traditional textile, a carved santo, and a tin retablo from a household shrine.
