In
Monterey County, 13 miles north of the
San Luis Obispo County line along the
Big Sur Coast. The K-12 school is part of the Pacific Unified School District.
Sand Dollar Beach is just one mile to the north on US
Highway 1.
This small community and Big Sur itself are remote. There are not many communities along this stretch of road, nor are there many roads inland and through the Santa Lucia Mountains along the coast. Highway 1 is well maintained and well traveled. The magnificent views along Highway 1 from Carmel to San Luis Obisbo rank second to none and well worth the trip.
