Search Visit California

Pismo State Beach offers all kinds of attractions: hiking, swimming and surf fishing as well as digging for the famous Pismo clam; the annual winter migration of millions of monarch butterflies (the park has the largest over-wintering colony in the U.S.); and tree-lined dunes. The beach is also popular with bird watchers. Ocean Lagoon has a wheelchair accessible fishing overhang. Campgrounds are also one of the features of this park.

The park is located in the town of Oceano off Highway 1. A trolley provides transportation to the surrounding community.
