Sierra Azul Nursery and Gardens specializes in plants and gardens for California's Mediterranean climate. They grow most of the plants they sell with a focus on plants from the five Mediterranean climate zones in the world. Plants such as manzanita, ceanothus, sages, flowering currants, toyon, and iris are some of the natives that are featured. Mediterranean plants also do very well in local gardens; rockroses, sunroses, rosemary, lavender cotton, lavender, and thymes.

In addition to a retail sales area their nursery features 2 acres of demonstration gardens. This garden allows customers to see plants as they look in a garden setting.

Visitors can view the gardens with a scenic view of Mt. Madonna. Sierra Azul Nursery and Gardens is open from 9:00 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. during the summer and 9:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. in the winter.
