The elevation of the Tehachapi Valley is approximately 4000 feet, with the surrounding mountains reaching almost 8000 feet. Tehachapi's climate features four distinct seasons. Springtime is filled with apple blossoms and wildflowers, summer is sunny and mild, autumn's colors are red and gold against crisp blue skies, and winter's light snows complete the wonderful variety that mountain living provides.
Tehachapi is located southeast of Bakersfield between Bakersfield and Barstow along Highway 58 near Edwards Air Force Base and the Sequoia National Forest.
