Trefethen

The main building at Trefethen Winery, built in 1886 for what was then Eshcol Winery, is the oldest, three-story, gravity flow wooden winery in Napa County.

Visitors are welcome in the beautifully refurbished tasting room in the historic winery. Surrounded by 600 acres, Trefethen is the largest estate vineyard and winery in the valley. The Trefethen family purchased the acreage and winery in 1968, replanting it to classic wine grapes. They restored the winery and made their first wines in 1973.

Four varietal wines are produced; Chardonnay, Dry Riesling, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon as well as two wines under their second label, Eshcol - Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Trefethen is open daily from 10:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Tours are given by appointment. Tours of the historic winery are approximately 30 minutes.
