Admission to the freshman class at the University of California at Santa Barbara, part of the University of California System, is highly competitive. Only about 70% of the applicants are accepted. All faculty members teach and do research. There are approximately 16,000 full-time undergraduates. Approximately two thirds of entering freshmen graduate within six years.
