Founded in 1855 and run by Jesuit Fathers, the University of
San Francisco is a private Roman Catholic institution offering degree programs in arts and sciences, business, education, nursing, and law. Its 52-acre campus is in the heart of the city. About two thirds of its students come from California. There is on-campus housing for approximately one third of the undergraduates.
