The Lake County Arts Council assists artists and the people of the community in arranging and producing exhibits and performances.

Founded in 1981, the LCAC operates a partnership with and is partly funded by, the California Arts Council.

The Arts Council arranges and displays art in Public Places, an on-going exhibit program for local artists. It produces ArtNotes, a bi-monthly newsletter, covering cultural life in Lake County, collects and furnishes information on artistic pursuits for the Cultural Events Calendar which runs in the Lake County Record Bee, for which it also produces a weekly column on "the State of the Arts."

The council staffs and operates the Main Street Gallery, featuring the work of local professional and student artists, and provides space for workshops, classes, meetings and open microphone nights.
