Located in Delta County on banks of the Smith Fork of the Gunnison River, the small community of Crawford is a real Old West town with cowboys running cattle drives right through town. Crawford State Park offers boating, camping, fishing, as well as access roads into the West Elk Mountain range. Each July, artists congregate to Needle Rock, a distinctive volanic landmark just three miles east of town, for the annual Render the Rock. Each artist recreates the spire using different mediums.
