Helander Dance Theater was founded by Danelle Helander in 1980. It presented concert work and offered classes each year since its inception, making it Boulder's longest continuously producing dance company. Through their commitment to educational programs in and outside of schools, donating performances as fundraisers for other organizations, and free tickets to service organizations, it reaches out into the community. The theater brings joy, understanding and enlightenment through dance to those who may not ordinarily turn in its direction. Its significance is its ability to bring people together in the studio, the theater, in local communities and across the globe.
