Del Norte was originally a stage stop and supply town for miners. Today, Del Norte is primarily an agricultural community. Annually in July, the Del Norte Mountain Bike Stage Race comes to town.Del Norte is located north and east of Durango, on Hwy 160. Beaver Reservoir and Wolf Creek Ski Area are nearby.
