The city of Idaho Springs is central to Colorado's mining and transportation history; it's preserved Victorian architecture and historic downtown district help keep that history alive. Three major mine tours leave right from Idaho Springs. The city's Citizens Park includes Charlie Traylor's famous waterwheel, situated in front of Bridal Veil Falls, and visible from I-70. Clear Creek runs through town, providing sites for several stream and fish habitat rehabilitation projects.
