Rangely is located in
Rio Blanco County in northwest Colorado near the Utah border on Highway 64 on the banks of the White River. Rangely is best known for its 700 pumpjacks. One of the nation's largest oil wells in just outside town.
Rangely was originally an Ute trading post. Visitors can view prehistoric rock art on a self-guided tour.
Kenny Reservoir, just east of town, offers swimming, boating, and fishing.
