River Run Inn was built in 1892 as the Chaffee County Poor Farm. Today it bears little resemblace to its humble beginnings. Now a gracious front porch invites guests to relax and view the glorious sunsets. A smaller back porch is a favorite for morning coffee and watching hummingbirds. The Inn sits on five acres in the country so it is an ideal place for rest and relaxation. And being on the Arkansas River not only makes it a peaceful retreat, but idyllic for the angler.
