Silver Falls is located in the San Juan Mountain Range
. It is braided into 3 leaps at the top, the main leap about 30', but with huge, steep braided cascades another 100 feet and then steep white water for a couple of hundred yards.
To get to the falls, take Forest Road 667, 11 miles below Wolf Creek Pass, past the East Fork Campground, about 7 mi. up the East Fork of the San Juan. After about 2 mi. there's a sign advising 5 mi. of passage on private property. Cross the first tributary washing across the road (about 1.5 mi. from right-of-way sign). When you reach the second tributary that's the drainage of Falls Creek and the location of Silver Falls.
