Built in 1988, on the former site of the 1890's Telluride Stables, The San Sophia is designed as a deluxe Inn for the discriminating traveler. The guest rooms are all named after former gold and silver mines in the local area. There is an observatory on top of the building with an incredible 360 degree view which includes the town of Telluride and the surrounding San Juan Mountains. The large East Deck has views of both the town and box canyon. The West Deck looks down valley and toward the ski mountain, located right out the back door.
