The Alpen Htte Lodge is an AYH hostel located in Silverthorne, along the Summit County Bike Path system, featuring over 50 miles of paved bike paths. Lodging accomodations range from 4 to 8 persons per room. A room with a queen size bed is available for a small additional fee. Family and groups are welcome. Facilities for the handicapped are also available. A midnight curfew assures their guests of a good night's sleep. Amenities include two living rooms with TV, social area for reading or games, and picnic areas. Kitchen facilities are available throughout the year. Summit County has over 150 restaurants, with many favorites close by. Across the street from the Alpen Htte Lodge is the new Silverthorne Recreation Center, which has a wide array of facilities, including four pools, an indoor track, cardiovascular area, weight room, 2 raquetball courts, and a hot tub/spa to soak at the end of a hard day.
