Walsenburg is a trade and distribution center for an area devoted to farming, ranching and tourism. The town is at a junction of four highways. Nearby Lathrop State Park provides water sports, camping and a visitor center, as well as great views of the Spanish Peaks. A popular scenic drive follows Hwy 160 and Hwy 12 west and south into the Cucharas Pass area. Walsenburg is located south of Pueblo on I-25. The Cucharas Reservoir and San Isabel National Forest are also nearby.
