The beautiful landscapes of this region overpower the senses, especially in such places as Rocky Mountain National Park, a 400-square-mile preserve that abounds with meadows, tundra, forests and ponds. Red Feather Lakes in Poudre Canyon also provides wonderful vistas. Most of the mountain towns of the region blend in with the natural setting, while more excitement can be found in Central City and Black Hawk where gambling is a major attraction.

Framed by foothills, the city of Boulder is comprised of trails and parks. It is home to the University of Colorado. Other cities where entertainment can be found are Fort Collins and Greeley, which are also the homes of the Colorado State University and University of Northern Colorado, respectively.

Denver Metro area, an energetic city with a population of 2.1 million, is filled with attractions such as museums, a downtown core with restaurants, clubs, galleries and boutiques, and an amusement park. Denver's priorities have included maintaining open space (it has an outstanding park system), and staving off pollution, crime and traffic.
