The area is rich in Western history, and features rock art and historical markers about Butch Cassidy, the Ute Indian Culture, homesteaders and miners. Wildlife is abundant: deer, elk, antelope, wild horses, bear and mountain lions.Energy and agricultural resources are abundant in the region, including several coal mines and an electric power plant.
