The Connecticut Department of Environmental Protection maintains a Water Quality Report Information Line: 1-866-287-2757 (Toll Free). During the periods of major use, water samplings are taken weekly from both coastal and inland beaches.
In addition to the saltwater beaches of the coastal areas, numerous freshwater beaches are located at lakes, ponds, forests and parks throughout the state.
