Founded in 1911, this is a highly competitive private institution offering degree programs in the liberal arts and sciences. Average enrollment is 1,800. The student-faculty ratio is 10:1. Approximately 55 percent of the student body studies abroad at some point during their four years. The college offers more than 1000 courses in 27 academic departments and interdisciplinary programs.

The 702-acre campus is in a small town midway between Boston and New York City. There are over 75 clubs and organizations on campus. Tours are available through the admissions office.
