Lyman Allyn Art Museum

Founded in 1926 by Harriet U. Allyn as a memorial to her whaling merchant father, Lyman Allyn, the Lyman Allyn Art Museum was established as part of Connecticut College for the community of southeastern Connecticut to use, enjoy, and learn about art and culture. Located across from the Coast Guard Academy, the museum contains New England furniture, paintings and silver; master drawings and American and European paintings; toys and dollhouses; and Oriental, Greek and Roman art. Contemporary art by local artists is also displayed.

Special exhibits are presented seasonally.

Open Tuesday-Saturday, 10am-5pm, Sunday 1pm-5pm; closed holidays.
