The Stamford Hospital is a not-for-profit, community teaching hospital serving Stamford and surrounding communities for more than 100 years It has 305 inpatient beds in medicine, surgery, obstetrics/gynecology, psychiatry, and medical and surgical critical care units. The hospital maintains an educational partnership with Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons for its teaching programs in internal medicine, family practice, psychiatry, obstetrics/gynecology and surgery. The hospital also offers a wide variety of special programs for parents including the Center for Fertility and Reproductive Endocrinology, genetic counseling, perinatology services to assist women with high-risk pregnancies, the Family Birthing Center, and a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. Pediatricians are available in-house 24 hours-a-day.
