In September of 1998, the the focal point of health care in Connecticut began with the opening of MidState Medical Center on Lewis Avenue in Meriden, the first new general acute-care medical center built in the state in 23 years. They concentrated on building a facility that would offer the health care services people of their communities would need today and tomorrow.
