Department Of Veterans' Affairs |
The Department of Veterans' Affairs is responsible for providing assistance to veterans, their eligible spouses, and their eligible dependents. Assistance is provided in obtaining benefits as provided for under federal, state and local laws. The State has authorized Veterans? Service Officers to aid in this process.
Health care services are provided by the Veterans' Home and Hospital which is licensed for 350 beds by the Department of Health Care Services. The DVA also offers substance abuse treatment in the Veterans Recovery Center (VRC). In-house physicians are augmented by community specialists. The in-house physicians also network with local VA and major area hospitals when appropriate.
