Weir Farm National Historic Site |
This 60-acre site takes visitors back to the time American Impressionist painter J. Alden Weir highlighted the area in his paintings. The visitors center displays historic photographs and a 20- minute videotape describing Weir's life and times on the property. Self-guiding tours are available on mowed footpaths that cross the site, providing views of the landscapes and buildings Weir painted until his death in 1919.
Guided tours of two of the artist's studios on the site are available.
Grounds open daily, dawn until dusk. Visitors center open Wednesday-Sunday 8:30am-5pm.
