Washington DC's Tourist Hotel in the Heart of the Historic District

Built in 1917, this landmark is the perfect place for those who like to be "in the thick of things." Located at the very busy intersection of llth and E Streets NW, the Harrington is 1 block from Pennsylvania Ave and the Old Post Office Pavilion. It's also within easy walking distance of some of the Smithsonians, and moderate walking distance of the major monuments. Metro buses heading in all directions stop at the hotel's intersection, and the Metro Center subway station is 2 blocks away.

The staff are pleasant and helpful. Accommodations are no-frill, but clean and air-conditioned. The beds are very comfortable. Two-bedroom family rooms and laundry facilities are available, as are refrigerators upon request. Rates are some of the best in town, especially for the location.

Harry's, off the lobby, is a lively restaurant and bar with outdoor seating, an attentive staff, and great NY steaks. They offer room service. Another restaurant, and a hamburger/malt shop are also on premises.
