Pensler Galleries

Established in 1976, Pensler Galleries is one of the most prominent dealers in historical art in the Washington area. It deals with a wide range of American, European, and Latin American paintings, sculpture and works on paper. The gallery has a special emphasis on 18th, 19th and 20th Century American paintings and works by early 20th Century Modern Masters. It usually displays works from its extensive inventory holdings, but on occasion does hold special exhibitions. The gallery is also one of the representatives of the estate of the early 20th Century American modernist, Joseph Stella. Milton Avery, Jean Dubuffet, Alfred H. Maurer, Thomas Sully, Leon Bakst, Elizabeth Nourse, Rufino Tamayo, and Philip Evergood are among the featured artists.
