Kalmar Nyckel |
Kalmar Nyckel, a Swedish-owned, Dutch-built three-masted armed pinnace (warship), brought the first permanent European settlers to the Delaware Valley, sailing from Goteborg, Sweden in November of 1637.
The ship offers the chance for children's imaginations to fill with the excitement of voyage and discovery of risk-taking and reward. It offers the chance for adults to place history in perspective, reflecting on the courage and commitment of their forebears.
