Basildon Park features a historic Palladian mansion, surrounded by gardens, pleasure grounds, and 400 acres of woodland traversed by a series of marked walkways. The Park is the site of various classical concerts, children's open-air theater presentations, and other shows and events throughout the year. Guided tours can be arranged for groups mornings and evenings. Some of the rooms in the house can also be used for wedding receptions, corporate events and other functions. Conservation of the house and the restoration of the gardens and parkland is being continued by the National Trust. Open April-October. Tea rooms, gift shop on site; parking available.
