Belvoir Castle

The first Belvoir Castle was built by William the Conqueror's standard bearer in the 11th century. Home to the Duke of Rutland, the Castle enjoys breathtaking views and houses a large collection of period furniture and porcelain, together with paintings by famous masters including Gainsborough. The extensive castle grounds include Spring Gardens, dating from the 1800s, which have been recently restored by the Duchess of Rutland and are now open for tours by pre-booked groups. Open April-October. Tel: +44 (0)1476 870 262, Fax: +44 (0)1476 870 443
