Big Ben

Big Ben, the world-famous bell in the Westminster Clock Tower of the Houses of Parliament, is illuminated whenever Parliament is in session. Originally, the term Big Ben applied only to the hour bell, which was named for Sir Benjamin Hall, commissioner of works when it was installed. The clock is 9 feet in diameter and weighs 13 tons.
