Search Visit

The Chilterns are a range of low mountains in southern England, extending 45 miles from the Thames at Sonning, through Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, and Bedfordshire. The hills cover an area of about 800 square miles. The highest of their rounded summits is 900 feet. There are several natural passes into the Thames lower valley, through the largest of which is built the Grand Junction Canal.
