Hever Castle and Gardens

Hever Castle is the childhood home of Anne Boleyn, second and most famous of Henry VIII six wives. Special exhibitions include Anne Boleyn's signed prayer books, costumed figures representing the wives of Henry VIII, a display of miniature model houses, and a collection of instruments of torture. Playground, yew and splashing water mazes on the grounds. What the visitor sees today in the Castle and in the surrounding gardens and grounds is the result of the wealth and imagination of William Waldorf Astor, who bought Hever Castle in 1903. Astor restored the Castle, built the Tudor Village which lies behind it, and created the magnificent gardens and lake. Guided tours for groups must be pre-booked; special events held throughout the season. Open March-November. Tourist Info: +44 (0)1732 868 110, Tel: +44 (0)1732 865 224, Fax: +44 (0)1732 866 796
