Land's End, not far from Penzance in southwest Cornwall, is the most extreme southwest tip of the mainland of Britain. Not far offshore is the Longships Lighthouse. Sometimes in the distance, a person can catch a glimpse of the Scilly Islands, about 25 miles away.
