Search Guildford

Set in the heart of the Surrey countryside, Loseley Park is surrounded by wooded hillsides and meadows. Built in 1562 by Sir William More, the house is a fine example of Elizabethan architecture; the award-winning Rose Garden contains over 1,000 old-fashioned rose bushes framed by low box hedges. The six-section Herb Garden includes culinary, medicinal, ornamental, dye plants and cosmetics, as well as an area of native wild flowers to attract wildlife. The peaceful Fountain Garden is accented with plants of cream, white and silver. The little Chapel, adjoining the Tithe Barn, was dedicated by the Bishop of Guildford in March 1997. The Chapel is usually available on public open days for private prayer. Also on-site gift shop, refreshments. Groups welcome. Garden open May-September; house open June-August.
