This Elizabethan house is highlighted by elegant chimneys, carved parapets and other Renaissance features that include contemporary plasterwork, chimney pieces and heraldic glass. The outstanding state rooms include a long gallery which is the largest of its kind in England, and an abundance of 17th- and 18th-century furniture, and Elizabethan and Jacobean portraits from the National Portrait Gallery.
