Once the greatest copper port of Queen Victoria's Empire, the village and quaysides have been restored as an open air museum and visitor attraction. Electric trains take visitors into the mine, or sail aboard the Tamar ketch 'Garlandstone.' The open-air museum exhibits include a farm with Shire horses and other animals, miners and harbour workers houses, nature trails and a wildlife reserve, and authentic 19th-century Inn. Museum staff offer demonstrations and talks in Victorian costume. Groups welcome, discounts available. Tel: +44 (0)1822 832 766, Fax: +44 (0)1822 833 808
