Newcastle International Airport is located about 5 miles NW of Newcastle next to the village of Ponteland. The nearby A1 trunk road gives easy access to Newcastle City, Tyneside, and the Scottish Borders. Edinburgh is a litle more than a two hour drive away. The new terminal building was completed a few years ago. There is a large car park close to the terminal building for short and long stay parking. Passengers can be dropped off outside the terminal building, but to visit the terminal you should use the car park.
